A True College Story for Sunday: Reaction To Trump Victory

BlackbirdAt a well-known highly rated private college gloom settled on the campus the day after the Trump victory. Many of the students paraded around with tears in their eyes expressing their grief.

The economics class that morning found that half of the class were crying as the professor entered. The professor seemed quite upset also. The professor indicated that it was going to be very hard to conduct a class that morning.

There was this nerdy student who sat up in front of the class. He was heads and shoulders above everyone else academically and had routinely received the praise of the professor for his performance.

As the professor went on discussing his feelings of grief and sadness the nerdy student raise his hands. The professor recognized him.

The student said: “Would you please put on your big boy pants and conduct the class. I pay $65,000 a year for this education and I don’t have time for this foolishness.”

The professor fled the class; the nerd went down to the Dean’s office to complain and to discuss whether he was entitled to some type of refund for not getting what he paid for. When the nerd said he paid for the tuition that was the case — he had saved for his education and worked hard even having a job during the school year to get enough money to be able to attend the school.

This is a true story. You may not like it that Trump won but life goes on and all the tears or skipped classes will not change it.

  1. Paid protesters?

    Nov 13, 2016 5:53 PM
Earlier today we showed that, contrary to USA Today’s claims that the anti-Trump protests across the nation are “spontaneous, involving people from all walks of life”, according to Wikileaks documents at least two of the people profiled by USA Today have a history of being professional agitators for the Democratic party, whose task is to stir up popular protests and – in extreme cases – unleash rioting, such as the following clip showing the latest day of violent protests in Portland revealed.

Now, courtesy of a Zero Hedge reader, we have visual confirmation of how a substantial portion of these professional, paid protesters arrive at the site of the protest, in this case Chicago.

As our reader notes, “I have a video of 5 city blocks on the West side of Chicago lined with buses from Wisconsin (Badger Bus Lines) bringing in protesters. The Sears tower is visible in the background.”

The video was taken at 3:30pm on South Canal Street in Chicago on Saturday. As our reader points out, hundreds of the participants that took part in the downtown Chicago protests from November 12 were bused in using these vehicles. Other arrived by train

    1. About the protesters being bused in – I hate to say this, but to anyone who has ever followed Ukraine, busing protesters around (and busing voters around – carousel voting, and other tricks, such as disappearing ink on ballots) is just so old hat.

When Yanukonvikt was in charge, and when things in Eastern Ukraine were getting stirred up, there were protesters for Putler all over Ukraine. It became very easy to spot one actor in 4 different places on the same day, posing as 4 different characters, in 4 different cities (the distances are not great).

The pictures were promptly posted online in newspapers and in blogs, and other online media.

And, yes, they were paid, and yes, virtually all of them were from Russia or somewhere outside Ukraine.

All of this was done to keep the sovok mafia oligarchs in power.

There are many, many lessons to be learned from Ukraine, for anyone who cares to look, including the attempt by the Klinton Krime Family to set up an oligarchy.

      Ho, hum

      1. I should have added that paid protesters in Ukraine also came to be known as “rent-a-crowds”.

Soros also spent his money big time in Ukraine.

Soros was interested in making money. So were the sovok mafia oligarchs in Ukraine. And Russia, for that matter.

        1. Elmer:

I hope you are not ignoring Glorious Leaders former campaign director. He’s on paper for robbing Ukraine of 12 million, at least. Trump’s ass kissing of Putin makes me sick.

          1. Khalid, the Podesta’s also drank copiously from the pool of blood money in Ukraine and Russia, as did the Klinton Krime Family.

Recall that the Klinton Krime Family Foundation drank a lot of blood money in return for selling 20% of US uranium to Russia.

Recall that the largest individual “donor” to the Klinton Krime Family Foundation is Ukrainian Jewish oligarch Victor Pinchuk, in return for which the Klintons pimped out their own daughter for photo-ops with Pinchuk, among other things.

Heck, even US (and Western law firms) got in on it. Among others, Monica Lewinsky’s lawyers were hired by the Yanukonvikt and his Party of Regions to attack Tymoshenko, both in Ukraine and in federal courts in the US. If you want case references in the US, I will give them to you.

Doug Schoen, a Democrat operative who appears on Fox frequently as a “contributor,” is getting about $40,000 per month to lobby for Pinchuk. There are many other Democrats, including but not limited to Conyers from Michigan, who have been lobbied by Rooshan lobbyists.

I don’t want to hijack this thread, but there are many, many more drinking that Ukrainian and Russian blood money – including but not limited to the Klintons.

    2. Not Badger Bus! Why the whole demo must have come from Madison!

      Henry:

Check out recent BLM activities in the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood of Chi-town.

  2. Khalid, Food for thought . It is all … food on the table … as the good Professor used to say to me . Knowledge that is! 🙂

  3. Robert Shetterly’s 200 portraits at his website
Americans Who Tell the Truth honor women and men
who found time to cry about injustice and then moved
forward creating solutions to the injustice

That is why they are called solutionarys

  4. Zora Neale Hurston was a trip. She was a great writer, as talented a writer as James Baldwin, who, flatly stated was a genius.

I read a bunch of her stuff a number of years ago. As a working class white boy I suppose I am funny like that. Her book on VooDoo is tremendous. An interesting fact I remember distinctly from it was her identifying the most powerful Hounaman or Witch Doctor in Haiti at that time as a white man. He was of French descent naturally enough.

And this is even more remarkable : There is, identified by Zora, a rigid caste system in Haiti. The lighter your skin as a ” Black “the higher your social status. Where does the Marxian analysis explain away this dialectical … anomaly ? Here the Master/Slave relationship is not so simply and comfortably diagnosed in terms of race. Here ” Master ” and ” Slave ” are of the Black race. Nothing is simple.

She wrote elsewhere as I recollect of the bond unto death that often the Southern White slave owner would have with a slave who was his constant right hand. As Zora put it, that was ” his nigger ” and heaven help the fool who messed with him. Because, avert your eyes for a moment from the usual cultural baggage of that terrible appellation, the sheer fact, according to Zora, was that he would die for ” his nigger” and damn sure that Black Man would fight unto death for him. They were pawns in History’s brutal game. Nothing is simple.

Zora also had, from young girlhood, a wealthy white benefactress who was her loyal patron throughout life. There is a trove of letters in which Zora, one of the most articulate exponents of the English language who ever lived, would constantly revert to a dialect replete with homespun idiomatic ” slave talk. ” Her appeals in this idiom were tongue in cheek perhaps, but not apparently sarcastic in tone. She was perceived as almost lapsing affectionately into this manner of address as one would ease contentedly into a warm bath. Talk about taking a much much closer look at the ” dialect ” in ” dialectic. The World seems to be going to ” Hegel in a handbasket ” here. I dig the ” Dialectic. ” However, nothing is so simple. 🙂

    1. John:

True, that. The dialectic first appears in Plato’s depictions of Socrates at work. Hegel saw the dialectic as the principal dynamic of thought creation, contradicting thesis with anti-thesis. The stronger idea sublates the weaker, absorbing from it its’ useful elements, and, producing a synthesis of the two notions, which, is, then, once again, posed with its’ contradiction, on into infinity. You’re correct, its a very complex subject.

If you like Carribean set novels, try the “The Dragon Can’t Dance ” by Earl Lovelace. It’s a political novel about the revolutionary nature of the competition between steel-bands that takes place during the Trinidadian Mardi Gras. Fast moving and thoughtful, it’s a good read. If you like MS Hurston’s work, you’ll really enjoy this book. African Diaspora Fictions are redolent with marroonage. They articulate a space for rebellion.

Are you familiar with Jamaican obeah, black-heart men, and, duppies? Trumping, and travailing, with the Pokemenas is an interesting experience. Spirit possession is quite real.

      1. John:

        Invitation

pounding Rhade rhythms knock on many doors
spirits curl upon the world tree
        open portal, Poteau Mitan
        axis between worlds
access to the land behind the mirror

        bodies gyrate, caper madly,
steeds of flesh, wild-eyed and flecked with foam
absent of self await the riders
tightened goat hides rumble forbidden prayers
        summoned spirits mount the lucky

        Legba, doorman, admits the few
        stamping beasts
Ogun, warrior, tests with savage fury
        strong hearts’ courage
        Accompong, judge, gives the verdict
        Who will be blessed?
        Who will be ridden?

        chalices gibber in the black
        lolling tongues
        whitened eyes
        give evidence of favor

a gift of knowledge from the undead
        people behind the mirror

    2. Malcolm X had a lot to say about “house niggers.” Some of it was unkind, but, all of it was true.

  5. Sounds like that nerd won’t get laid anytime soon.

If any one wants to understand reactionary white anger toward BLM, read a synopsis of Hegel’s analysis of the Master/Slave relation. According Hegel, the slave must thank the Master for his/her oppression in order for the master to be secure in his/her identity as master. It’s great reading, and, I’m certain it’s on the NET somewhere.

The American bourgeois power structure can’t even admit the existence of a revolutionary proletariat that questions their hold over the means of production. Toppling the social pyramid is the only solution to economic servitude. We don’t need bourgeois political parties. We need committed Bolsheviks. All power to the dialectic!

When comrades meet, one raises the hammer-fist, and, says, “All power to the dialectic” the other/others will raise the fist, as well, and, answer, “All power.”

Jail is the University of Bolshevism. The revolution will erupt from the bowels of the bourgeois state, from the dark, dirty, tangle of its’ intestines, not the academic ivory tower. The first thing Glorious Leader should do is make Nosferatu, Attorney General. As AG, Guilianni will certainly build more prisons, and, keep them chock-full. And, please, please, put Blimpy in charge of the FBI.

  6. Can you imagine their reaction should Trump announce that one of his first orders will be to cancel all outstanding student loans?

That would grab them all by the (insert word).

That nerdy bozo isn’t paying $65K for an education; he’s paying for a piece of paper saying that he went to that particular college.

    Ken Galbraith wept.

  7. The more things change….etc…..In the ’60’s, I worked my way through BU ( tuition was $1,500 but THAT was a lot!) at Boston City Hospital on midnight shifts…I believe I learned more on the accident floor and ambulance than I did on Comm Ave but that’s another story.
In those years, the Vietnam War was THE issue…and I learned to take the more difficult classes in the spring when I could anticipate a “Student Strike” which was completely different from the teamsters strikes I would see during my summer ‘day job’ moving furniture. The movement deflated as soon as the draft lottery replaced the draft but I do remember that it was something of a gyp paying a tuition for professors who spent more time in Hanoi than in the classroom. Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be!

  8. “The student said: ‘Would you please put on your big boy pants and conduct the class. I pay $65,000 a year for this education and I don’t have time for this foolishness.'”

Terrific! Was grief counseling made available immediately to other students who were subjected to this outrageous request? There was no trigger warning, after all…

Truly, none of us has time for this foolishness. I sometimes think that Hillary fans and anti-Trumpers failed to see how truly bad Hillary is and how naturally blustery Trump is, and that they made a huge mistake by buying into the notion that with Trump, the candidate you see is the President you get.

Yes, I am happy that Trump won, but far more than that, SO VERY RELIEVED that Clintons (“There, I said it again”) lost. May they fade quickly.

What kind of shape would we anti-Hillary types be in today had SHE won? We’d groan a bit, send out some warnings about Clintons and move on.

    More power to that nerd!
