Michael Moore’s Moronic Misguided Maunderings: Malignity Magnified Part One

clowns-072709Michael Moore always reminded me of a circus clown. He’s the left side of the Trump coin: very much like Donald who is one of the greatest frauds America ever produced. Moore’s gimmick was to be a warrior for the far left spelling out all the evils of capitalistic America while touting the tragic troubles of the poor and downtrodden with facile comparisons.

The lefties love lunatic language lambasting our land; they tell how evil things are while shutting their eyes to the enormous swelling tides of people from other lands who strive and often die trying to come to what they suggest is an evil empire. Or, looking at the other side of the coin where Donald cons the right (although not quite as clever as Michael) he sometimes lets his former leftist shirt show as when he remarked “I don’t know that we have the right to lecture (other countries.)”

(I may be wrong on putting Trump opposite Moore. They may have the same beliefs in the evil of America. Since Trump is a blank black board he can be anything you want to believe in.)

Moore parents and other relatives worked at General Motors in Flint, Michigan. He uncle is said to be one of the founders of the United Auto Workers Union. His family did well as members of the union working for America’s biggest car maker. Many of that generation could afford a second home in Florida to escape the harsh winters.

Moore an Eagle Scout decided early on that politics and propaganda provided plentiful power and pelf. At the wise age of 18 years he was elected to a school board; at 22 he had dropped out of college figuring future financial funds were to be found not on the assembly line, GM by that time was in a stumble, but in flirting with the leftist anti-American brand.

After a stint at some magazines which thrived on leftist-propaganda he was fired for insubordination for refusing to publish an article critical of the Sandinistas who he had extolled as if they were creating a paradise on earth, as all their communist ilk are supposedly doing. The American leftist never mention that no one is flocking to go to these countries nor are they.

Moore after his firing temporarily fell back I love with America. He used its system to bring a suit against the magazine for firing him. He collected $58,000 of those dirty greenbacks produced by the country against which he rants. He would turn that $58,000 in to $58 million while telling every one of the evils of America in which he thrives as do many of the leftist propagandists.

When I read most harsh criticism of America I think of a guy I grew up with: Crazy Red Mac. (He wasn’t called Red because of his philosophy but his hair.) He’d say to me: “Ted Williams and Joe DiMaggio are bums”.  I’d tell him he was babbling. He’d return: “Oh, yeah! Did you see the other day Williams struck out with men on base; and DiMaggio, he, he, did that last week.”

They only way Red would ever think they were any good is if they hit a home run each time they were at bat. Theodore Samuel Williams who has the highest batting average of any major league player born after 1900 of .344 only got a hit about once every three times at bat. He was considered great. America hits it out of the park at least 80% of the time and the leftists like Moore and far right demagogues like Trump point to the other 20% and rile up the people.

Fortunately for America the majority recognize our country is not perfect since it is a human institution. Not everything we do will come out right despite our best intentions. That is what has motivated our nation to act – which is part of our psyche – the intention to do good as a people. We may be fooled into doing it because the reasons proposed are not the true reasons that are motivating the people behind the action but we act from benevolent motives as a people.

Our history teaches us that we reject nativists such a Trump who would have fit well into the Know -Nothing (American) Party which was a secret organization that bashed others – at that time they were the Catholic immigrants. (We know Trump likes keeping secrets like tax returns.) The Know Nothings glowed like a night flare over a nighttime military combat outpost a bright light soon dimmed. They took over the Massachusetts legislature., one historian described them: the new party was populist and highly democratic, hostile to wealth, elites, and to expertise, and deeply suspicious of outsiders especially Catholics.”

Strike “Catholics” and put in “Latinos and Muslims” and you have to admit that sounds a lot like those who are backing Trump. Moore has predicted Trump will win.   Like all his pontifications he is wrong. Tomorrow I will tell you why.

  1. Michael Moore is a bourgeois liberal. He pretends to be a proletarian, but, his hefty bank account gives lie to that pose. Moore has an entertaining “leftist” shtick that has filled his pockets. His clever use of the Socratic dialectic does not extend to self-examination. Despite his working class antecedents, material success has turned him bourgeois through and through.

Now, if he got on the media and urged the families of the incarcerated to arm themselves and attack the prisons, I’d have a higher opinion of him. He could suggest that every released inmate be given an M-16 and a thousand rounds to ease their transition back into the “free” world.

I’ve heard Moore is a hard guy to work for.

  2. Who are these lefties? Are they identifiable as individuals and/or groups? What, exactly, is a leftist? Are we talking surplus value, class struggle, and, blood red revolution? Communists (the book read kind) are the vanguard of the left. Why are they the target of your ire (Elmer please chime in)?

  3. Meanwhile, back at the ranch…………….

Whitey officially taking it all the way…..

Hank Brennan “confirmed “(to Bob Ward Fox25) that he “plans to appeal to the United States Supreme Court, possibly by the end of the week.”

    Bill C,
He still has a chance for a pardon…….
if he can get to Slick Willie, and Hillary gets in.
    Fat chance.

  4. Matt and friends, it’s obvious that we the people have chosen their candidate, there are no more people on the bubble. obama should sign one of his unconstitutional executive orders to schedule the national election immediately while we all still hate one another. The sooner we know who our next president is, the sooner the people can either accept the new president or begin an American revolution. “God bless the USA” has never had more meaning. Be safe, Bobby Curtis

  5. You wrote “We know Trump likes keeping secrets like tax returns.” So do I. We can safely assume that his tax return has larger numbers than yours or mine – “huge”!. What else do you really need to know? Are you worried that his tax rate is lower than yours? Will you be better able to predict the future by picking apart his tax returns than the ancients did picking apart the entrails of birds?

    H. L. Mencken (1880 – 1956) defined Puritanism as “the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.” Can we update that definition to be “the haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be paying less taxes than we expect”?

I offer to you a few other Mencken quotes appropriate to this and any election cycle:

‘Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want, and deserve to get it good and hard.”

“Civilization, in fact, grows more and more maudlin and hysterical; especially under democracy it tends to degenerate into a mere combat of crazes; the whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary.”

“We move toward a lofty ideal. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron.”

“I believe that liberty is the only genuinely valuable thing that men have invented, at least in the field of government, in a thousand years. I believe that it is better to be free than to be not free, even when the former is dangerous and the latter safe. I believe that the finest qualities of man can flourish only in free air – that progress made under the shadow of the policeman’s club is false progress, and of no permanent value. I believe that any man who takes the liberty of another into his keeping is bound to become a tyrant, and that any man who yields up his liberty, in however slight the measure, is bound to become a slave.”

i conclude with a quote relevant to the discussion in this forum of the past several days:

“The only guarantee of the Bill of Rights which continues to have any force and effect is the one prohibiting quartering troops on citizens in time of peace. All the rest have been disposed of by judicial interpretation and legislative whittling. Probably the worst thing that has happened in America in my time is the decay of confidence in the courts. No one can be sure any more that in a given case they will uphold the plainest mandate of the Constitution. On the contrary, everyone begins to be more or less convinced in advance that they won’t. Judges are chosen not because they know the Constitution and are in favor of it, but precisely because they appear to be against it.”

  6. Well, Matt, you were OK until your last paragraph, in which you are completely dishonest. Just like the Democrat liberal Goebbels/Stalin propaganda machine.

Trump and Trump supporters are not for bashing Latinos and Muslims, nor are they against Latinos and Muslims.

The idea is to deal with ILLEGAL immigration, and to vet Muslims who originate from certain countries in the Middle East.

Also – what Bill C said.

And Trump made a good point today – Killery Billary Hildebeast should not be receiving any national security briefings. We have already seen how she “handles” national security.

  7. Matt, latest national poll from LA-Times/USC: Trump 47, Hillary 40.
Even the latest CNN poll has Trump up 5 points; NBC has Trump up 2 points; CBS has Trump up 1 point.
Before trumpeting Hillary as the sure choice, see these videos:
    1. 13 minutes of Hillary lying: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7syNUYAXHwo
    2. Hillary: career criminal: http://buzzpo.com/anonymous-blew-lid-off-hillary-clinton/

In short: there’s ample evidence that Hillary is inherently dishonest and duplicitous; two-faced; an inveterate liar: In a New York Times article William Safire called her “a congenital liar.”

You can “speculate” how bad Trump “will” be. We know how bad Hillary was.
Plus with Hillary you get the serial assaulter, the disbarred lawyer, the perjuring ex-prez. Bill back in the White House. Take a gander at those 456 pardons and clemency Bill gave, including the 140 pardons he gave in his last hours as president. You sure want those two, Hill and Bill back in D.C.?
