Something To Think About.

Col.Ralph Peters wrote

“March 1st, I informed Fox that I would not renew my contract. The purpose of this message to all of you is twofold:

First, I must thank each of you for the cooperation and support you’ve shown me over the years. Those working off-camera, the bookers and producers, don’t often get the recognition you deserve, but I want you to know that I have always appreciated the challenges you face and the skill with which you master them.

Second, I feel compelled to explain why I have to leave. Four decades ago, I took an oath as a newly commissioned officer. I swore to “support and defend the Constitution,” and that oath did not expire when I took off my uniform. Today, I feel that Fox News is assaulting our constitutional order and the rule of law, while fostering corrosive and unjustified paranoia among viewers. Over my decade with Fox, I long was proud of the association. Now I am ashamed.

In my view, Fox has degenerated from providing a legitimate and much-needed outlet for conservative voices to a mere propaganda machine for a destructive and ethically ruinous administration. When prime-time hosts–who have never served our country in any capacity–dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller–all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of “deep-state” machinations– I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.

As a Russia analyst for many years, it also has appalled me that hosts who made their reputations as super-patriots and who, justifiably, savaged President Obama for his duplicitous folly with Putin, now advance Putin’s agenda by making light of Russian penetration of our elections and the Trump campaign. Despite increasingly pathetic denials, it turns out that the “nothing-burger” has been covered with Russian dressing all along. And by the way: As an intelligence professional, I can tell you that the Steele dossier rings true–that’s how the Russians do things.. The result is that we have an American president who is terrified of his counterpart in Moscow.

I do not apply the above criticisms in full to Fox Business, where numerous hosts retain a respect for facts and maintain a measure of integrity (nor is every host at Fox News a propaganda mouthpiece–some have shown courage). I have enjoyed and valued my relationship with Fox Business, and I will miss a number of hosts and staff members. You’re the grown-ups.

Also, I deeply respect the hard-news reporters at Fox, who continue to do their best as talented professionals in a poisoned environment. These are some of the best men and women in the business..

So, to all of you: Thanks, and, as our president’s favorite world leader would say, “Das vidanya.””

Trump congratulated Putin on his bagged election victory despite Putin’s continuing attack on US infrastructure and election and on Britain.

If you don’t see Trump is controlled by Russia, then you are closing your eyes to reality.

Same here , E.F. , I think I immediately attuned to Terrence McKenna as he reminds me of Jack in many ways. Was listening to an old Art Bell interview of Terrence . He was living on the side of Mauna Loa , off grid , and his early line of sight 128 kbps wireless internet connection ( ‘ 89 or so ) was not reliable so he came down off mountain to use a landline . Bell , riffing a bit in the dark , said that he could imagine Terrence making his way home later over broken roads on the volcano that was his home . ” I bet they really keep out the riff raff ” said Bell . Not missing a beat , Terrence laughed and said ” Well they don’t keep out the riff raff , but they do keep everybody else out ! ” Jack would have really gotten that . Heart !

For one who has clearly been operating in the Chrono-Synclastic Infundibulum for a long time as well we could not call plagiarism that which in our dimension is simply the usual random/not random walk through time and space and the morphogenetic field. Have at it , Jack !!!

  5. And I too want to thank Matt our moderator, our blog-master general, our host in chief, for siccing us all right and left, on the power-abusing Feds. and for giving us the opportunity to Vent and “tell it like it is” and like it was. No holds barred. No punches-pulled.

  6. John,
I’m plagiarizing Kemo Savvy, a..k.a. Kemo Savie: Savvy and Savie are twin brothers.

Now, here’s the real big tip. I’ve already started my next true-book. It’s titled, “Jack, the Autobiography of Bill” by Billy C. . . .sorta Tom Jones-like, two boys get switched in the neonatal ward at old Boston Lying In . . .but only for a few hours . . .however turns out they live next door to each other in OldHarbor/Savie . . .are raised almost identically . . .and each could tell each other’s BIO . . .so Billy C in telling his Autobio, is actually telling Jack’s bio, but it might as well be his autobio . . . .dna-transference, and epigenetic-environmental alterations due to the transient transfer of the other mother’s nutrients (“precious bodily fluids” of Catch 22, a.k.a. “mother’s milk” in my tome) which transfer is the key to the Surprise Ending: The Book begins recognizing that both boys are born on July 26th, the Feast of St. Ann, and Mick Jagger’s birthday . . .the world has not been the same since the birth of these three, Mick, Jack & Bill (Billy C, yours truly), nor will it ever will be again the same . . .
I keep coming back to the cartoon character, SUPERDUCK, “Born into a World he never made.” I think there’s a lot of truth in that statement, which at first may seem superficial; I’ll explore it at length in this 500 to 1,000 page work, “Jack, the Auto of Bill”, which I’ll condense to about 300 pp., for conciseness’s sake.

    • Seems like a book I have read somewhere. There was the old Dick Van Dyke show segment when they thought that had the wrong baby because of similarities like you explained. The final scene is the other parents walking into the famous living room with their baby, and they were Black.

But there is a book with your premise as its theme or within its theme. (Sad that so many of my reads were done back in my tequila days. Only the titles remain.)

Your book sounds like a worthy project. I’ll buy it. Go get ’em, Kemo Therapy!

      • John King McDonald

Dunno … Kinda a wet blank-it . Whether this tumescent tome , pregnant with the possibility of profound procreative power paired as an entelechy pulsing its dyadic dystole and systole in the limbic Southie/Savvie would ever be written , is a matter of conjecture . Sui Generis , the proposition of its elements is a case study in Joycean jocular jaywalking across all lanes of the usual traffic and discourse. Strange , yes ! … Challenging , yes !

          • As Jame Gumb said, “It places the lotion in the basket.”

That Bob and Ray routine was about actor Barry Campbell and his constant flubbing of his lines on a western movie set. His commanding officer had this long string of words infused with F’s that took him fifteen seconds to say. It came directly after a cavalry charge that had about 500 extras on horseback charging through the scene.

All Barry Campbell had to say was, “Colonel, that’s a filthy flagrant falsehood.” He just couldn’t do it and every time they shot the scene it cost $5000.

I remember Lenny Bruce when he said, “There are no comic geniuses.” He then took it back and said Bob and Ray are the exception.

Ralph Peters: The Man Too Militaristic for Fox News
His American exceptionalism and anti-Putinism have left him in an awkward position.

Last week, retired Army colonel Ralph Peters quit his post at Fox News where he’d been a longtime fixture. Peters had become known for his impassioned commentaries against Russian appeasers, critics of Israel, and other enemies of American democracy.

Over the last year and a half, Peters has warned incessantly against the brutal designs and antidemocratic maneuverings of Vladimir Putin. Almost as obsessively, he has declaimed against the current occupant of the White House, Donald Trump, whom he has invariably described as an instrument of the Russian government. In fact, he openly supported his opponent, Hillary Clinton, in the 2016 election.

Of course, that isn’t much of a departure from his treatment of Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, whom Peters called a “total pussy” on air and said had been “date-raped” by Putin. More recently he accused conservative Fox host Tucker Carlson of sounding like a Nazi sympathizer from the 1930s.

Meanwhile, Peters, who spent the better part of that last 15 years in lockstep with Fox’s support for the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, is suddenly marching to a different tune. He’s shocked that the network appears to be backing Trump’s attacks on the FBI in the context of the Russia investigation. In his letter of resignation to Fox News, Peters stressed his concern that the channel had “degenerated” into a “propaganda machine” for “a destructive and ethically ruinous administration.”

As Peters put it in his wordy invective against Fox:

When prime-time hosts—who have never served our country in any capacity—dismiss facts and empirical reality to launch profoundly dishonest assaults on the FBI, the Justice Department, the courts, the intelligence community (in which I served) and, not least, a model public servant and genuine war hero such as Robert Mueller—all the while scaremongering with lurid warnings of “deep-state” machinations—I cannot be part of the same organization, even at a remove. To me, Fox News is now wittingly harming our system of government for profit.

Peters’ letter raises some important questions. Why in a constitutional republic should certain government agencies that have the power to ruin people’s lives and in some instances kill them not be subject to oversight and criticism? Why is a news channel that accuses those supervising intelligence agencies of abusing their power for partisan political ends acting irresponsibly and even dangerously? Is Fox forbidden to flag irregularities in the way Robert Mueller has conducted his supposed investigation of Donald Trump’s still-unproven collusion with Russia?

The right to criticize Mueller’s probe, which seems to have wandered off-course long ago, is not invalidated because Mueller was a one-time war hero. The man has a checkered past, starting with his disastrous collaboration with Whitey Bulger as an FBI agent in Boston in search of dirt on other criminals.

Peters warrants examination as a special kind of militarist. Let’s note that his most memorable censure of Obama was that the former president “do

Father of Pulse gunman was FBI informant, widow’s attorneys say

Attorneys for the widow of Pulse nightclub gunman Omar Mateen are calling for a mistrial after they say prosecutors revealed that Mateen’s father was an FBI informant. CBS affiliate WKMG reports that prosecutors sent an email on Saturday that stated Seddique Mateen was a confidential FBI source from 2005 until 2016, according to a motion filed by the defense.

Omar Mateen’s widow, Noor Salman, is on trial in federal court on charges of aiding and abetting her husband, obstruction of justice and lying to federal agents. If convicted, she could get life in prison.

Her husband killed 49 people and injured at least 68 others when he opened fire inside Pulse on June 12, 2016 before he was shot to death by police.

WKMG reports that the email sent by prosecutors stated that Seddique Mateen is also being investigated for money transfers to Turkey and Pakistan.

Salman’s lawyers allege the new revelation prev

All serial killers are murderers , but not all murderers are serial killers .

It may be a distinction without a difference . But I don’t think so .

Flemmi is an outlier . Ostensibly , a mob guy , enforcer and hitman , he may well be more a serial killer than a mob assassin . His grisly relish at corpse mutilation , and an intuition his career in blood was a series of unholy ablutions suggests this . He is a mean prick . A nasty fucking prick . Period .

There are a lot of Tanyas bobbing around in that the restive swell of youth, maybe, an H.Rap, and, a Stokely, or, two. There’s ghosts about, spirits walking in the daytime. Bernadine, and, Angela, are DNA in the bloodstream of the teeming crowd. Wild horses! Who’s gonna be Mario Savio, and, give out a blast on Gabriel’s trumpet to announce the death of what was, and, the beginning of what will be. This is just how things took off in the mid-sixties. 16. Obama did congratulate Putin six years ago on his election. Was he controlled by Putin? If one wants to see countries that exert undue influence over American foreign policy look at Saudi Arabia, Israel and Britain, not Russia. In a recent poll 70% of Americans were concerned about the Deep State. Even federal employees can engage in wrongdoing. The swamp has to be drained. Peters is clueless. LBJ and Nixon served in the military. Cronkite never did. Was Walter precluded from his criticism of them or can only veterans use the 1st Amendment? 2. Mueller was head of the FBI when Rico and Connolly were framed. Did he take part in withholding the Fitzpatrick exculpatory evidence that was denied to Connolly in his Florida trial? Did he permit the arrest of Rico? Mueller knew both of those agents were innocent. Both were being framed , he knew it and let it happen. He covered up the wrongdoing in the Uranium One deal that profited the Clintons millions. He ,Comey and Obama fabricated the FBI claim that the Boston Marathon bombers, the Tsarnaevs, were unknown to the DOJ. The three lied to the American public in an attempt to make the Feds look good. Worst of all he indicted Flynn who was the victim of a signals intel leak and he never prosecuted the Obama leakers who clearly committed felonies. He is just a partisan hack, a Deep State apparatchik protecting his buddies by trying to hide the crimes of the FBI and Intel guys. The prior Administration unleashed the full apparatus of the National Security State against the Republican presidential campaign and they should be held accountable for that lawlessness. 3. Read a good book by Arthur Herman called 1917, Lenin, Wilson and the birth of the new world disorder.4. Former federal prosecutor Joe DiGenova has just come on board . Despite the absurdity of the idea that the FBI would ever involve itself in extra-legal gyrations to load the roulette ball of history : the FISA Court / Steele Dossier / McCabe Poison Pete attitude so understandable post a half million Clinton campaign duke to the Assistant FBI Director’s wife …. Ms. McCabe etc. / Love Strozk and Lisa Page , virulent anti-Trump Mueller minions from FBI Agency gone amok …. And so on .

DiGenova should clarify some points for you . And with the bringing of criminal indictments against some of these people you have so unrealistically portrayed as being as pure as St. Teresa of Avila , those too-

  18. Mueller?

“The best possible outcomes of this controversy would be the reform of criminal procedure and the end of the criminalization of political differences. The entire U.S. criminal-justice system is an anthill of oppressive fraud where prosecutors win 99 percent of their cases, at least in part, 97 percent without a trial, as Mueller is proving by throwing monstrous charges against his victims and settling for guilty pleas to trivial and technical counts to extract catechized and rehearsed inculpatory testimony with immunity for perjury. No one should imagine that General Michael Flynn is the sole victim of this. Mueller was there for the shameful persecution of Senator Ted Stevens, and has been in the vanguard of the mass-destructive weaponization of the American prosecutocracy. (The U.S. has 5 percent of the world’s population and 25 percent of its incarcerated people.) The immediate problem is not draconian severity but the capricious abuse of the practically unlimited power of prosecutors — and especially the pandemic of partisan infection of the federal law-enforcement and intelligence apparatus.”

    • Amen. Thanks for posting, Henry Barth

      • And, yes, Henry, everyone should read Black’s National Review article: superb, right on point, and perhaps only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to DOJ/FBI/CLapper/Brennan abuse of power and the latter two’s more recent abuses of mouths.

  19. This congratulations call to Putin is hardly evidence of anything other than the usual politeness of ‘diplomacy.’

I am reminded that in 1945, Irish Taoiseach Éamon de Valera formally offered his condolences to the German Minister in Dublin on the death of Adolf Hitler in 1945, in accordance with diplomatic protocol. Given Ireland’s neutrality during World War II, some, like Churchill, accused de Valera of being pro-Nazi. A more prosaic vierw would be that they were both elected Roman Catholic leaders of a nation; even Hitler received de Valera’s prayers.

Sixteen months of Mueller’s investigations has yet to uncover any Russians under the electoral beds.

I do agree with one remark Col Peters made on Fox a few years ago: Peters referred to Obama as a “total pussy”, leading Fox News to suspend him for two weeks.

    • “……..even Hitler received de Valera’s prayers.”

And de Valera should have done 6,000,000 Hail Marys for that. If you have to invoke Hitler to justify Trump’s actions you have really skidded off the rails.
