The Blind Leading the Blind: Trump Leading His Followers To Death

I used to keep a running chart of the coronavirus. It took me a substantial bit of time to keep up with the changes and other things pushed that idea onto the back burner. I thought I would go back to it to see what was going on around May 14 and 15 about five months ago and compare it today.

On May 15 the USA had 1,442.924 cases and 87,500 deaths. – Italy had 223.855 cases and 31,610 deaths – Spain had 230,139 cases and 27,459 deaths – the United Kingdom had 238.004 cases and 34,078 deaths.

The ten day average for USA deaths was 1,650, for Italy 230, for Spain 185, and for the UK 458.

Today the USA has 8,032,805 cases and 218,410 deaths – Italy has 391,611 cases and 36,427 deaths – Spain has 936.550 cases and 33,775 deaths – the United Kingdom has 692,103 cases and 43,519 deaths.

The ten day average for deaths now is USA 908, for Italy 30, for Spain 133, and for the UK 80.

So where does that leave us. We have the most cases and deaths in the world. Hardly can we spin that into something good.  What about the rates of increases over the last five months.

Positive cases probably do not tell too much because there is a relationship between testing and cases. If a person has Covid-19 and is tested then that is a case; if the person has it and it is not tested than it is not a case.

But deaths do matter. I know there are people out there who suggest the death rate is exaggerated. They point out that those over a certain age with pre-existing conditions are likely to be the ones who die. They want to suggest that it is the pre-existing condition that killed them and not the Covid-19. Some have even suggested that if a person who died in an automobile accident had Covid-19 his or her death would be listed as being from the virus. They have no evidence to back them up but that never mattered to many of them.

With the deaths we can assume that the doctors in the other nations are dealing with them the same way as in America. Some will not concede that believing that there is a conspiracy (Deep State?) causing the doctors to be devious.

A person at 65 with high blood pressure may live another twenty years; a person at 65 who gets Covid-19 may live another twenty days. The Trump folk want us to say he did not die from Covid but from high blood pressure. That though is not the standard that is being use in America or in other nations. If the Covid combines with a pre-existent illness and hastens the death then that person died of Covid.

The figures give the story: the United States over five months has seen an increase of 250% in the number of deaths; Spain has seen an increase of 158 %; the United Kingdom’s increase has been 128 %; and Italy about 115%. Assuming the same methodology is used in all the countries that is something you have to admit that is nothing to make you proud of.

We are the United States of America and we should not be among the worse countries in the world handling this virus. We see Trump who except for extraordinary medical treatment might still be in the hospital holding rallies where the slightest precautions are not taken: no masks, no social distancing, and shouting. His past hate fests have produced an increase in virus cases and his stupidity in not demanding that his cult wear masks will continue to spread the virus. Then we learn that is the intent of Trump, he has embraced the Herd idea rejected by almost all experts, so that he seeks to spread the virus.

It is predicted if we do not do better by February 1, 2021, the number of cases of death will double. Yet there are some people who suggest Trump is doing a good job. That’s what happens when you belong to a cult.

This documentary follows the journey of 100,00 tons of steel from the Boston Elevated Subway, which was erected in 1898, demolished in 1987, then shipped eight thousand miles away to be melted re-formed into steel bars. These then cross the ocean again, where they are ultimately re-fabricated into a remarkable new structure in a surprising location. Workers, historians, preachers, politicians, on lookers, artists, children, architects, and astrophysicists on two continents address the significance of the process as it unfolds. The Real Reason Trump Chose Amy Coney Barrett.
What set her apart from the rest of the Judges he could have chosen is a pretty ominous sign of what’s to come.

    Lauren Martinchek

    Oct 15 ,2020

With the Supreme Court confirmation process well underway for Judge Amy Coney Barrett in the Senate, it’s difficult not to feel the full weight of helplessness and raw anger when considering the breadth of ways that her place on the bench will negatively impact the American people. But as time passes and it begins to sink in that everything from climate change legislation to labor laws and healthcare is on the line, in order to prepare for what’s to come it feels critical to understand what it is about this particular woman that set her apart from the rest of the conservative Judges throughout the country. What made her stand out? After all, it’s not be difficult to find a conservative Judge willing to overturn Roe vs Wade or the Affordable Care Act.
What’s a little more rare, however, is a Judge who actively participated in the theft of the 2000 election in Florida, like Amy Coney Barrett.
Beth Reinhard and Tom Hamburger of The Washington Post write:
“Amy Coney Barrett was just three years out of law school, a 28-year-old associate at a boutique Washington law firm, when she was dispatched to Florida to help George W. Bush’s legal team rescue thousands of Republican absentee ballots.
…At issue were thousands of absentee ballot request forms in Martin County — just north of Palm Beach County, home of the notorious “butterfly ballot” — that had missing voter registration information.
After county officials allowed the GOP to take the forms back and fill in the missing information, a Democratic voter sued, saying ballots cast by those voters should be tossed out. The county canvassing board, the Florida Republican Party and the Bush campaign argued that the votes should still count.
…As both parties brace for the possibility of another contested election that Trump has suggested could go to the high court, the previously unreported role of his Supreme Court nominee in the absentee ballot fight is more than a historical footnote. Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. and Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh also played a role in Bush v. Gore — meaning that if Barrett is confirmed, three of the nine justices will have participated in litigation related to the only presidential contest to be decided by the high court.”

We Are Not Just In Trouble, We Are In Danger

  4. Trump supporters. I love you dearly. But your boy is going down, a victim of the Trump virus, or, if you prefer, the China virus. Getting medivaced to Walter Reed was not a good look for a president who went maskless. Remember, this is a man who owned the economy. The unemployment rate was 4.7 percent when he took office, and today it is 7.9 percent. This is progress? Give me Joe Biden any day.

    1. If the majority of the Electoral College says, as you do “Give me Joe Biden…,” the country will not get Joe Biden at all. Instead, we will get everything that lies behind this “candidate;” namely, Socialist-Democrat garbage ad nauseum, followed by the end of the USA as we know it. God spare us!

      1. GOK:

Biden is a Democrat and not a Socialist-Democrats. The Democrats gave us Social Security and Medicare. These Democrats gave us the Civil Rights Movement and the Affordable Care Act. They have been around since FDR. Do a little thinking about what what has been accomplished by the Democrats who are not Socialist as claimed by you.

  5. You left out that only 6% of people died from Covid only. The typical death is morbid obesity, diabetes, hypertension, & Covid; Obesity & several other comorbidities & Covid.

So many risk factors when you’re morbidly obese, including a weak heart. A friend works in a local ER, she said their critical care Covid case load has dropped by over 70%. She said they have 3 ER Covid cases: all roughly 400 pounds; face down, intubated, and in an induced coma.

We have multiple major factors you skipped:

    1. We’re an obese nation, not Europe
    2. We have large Black & Latino populations, not Europe
    3. Democrat Governors like Cuomo FORCED infected seniors back into nursing homes, leading to large death totals in New York, Michigan, and elsewhere.
    4. Governor Cuomo didn’t properly use the two large emergency hospitals provided by President Trump
    5. China blocked information; China protected itself, and exported the virus
    6. President Trump issued a travel ban that Joe Biden called ” xenophobic”.

Now Nancy Pelosi blocks a new Covid aid bill, and the Liberal MSM blocks unsavory, illegal behavior by the Hunter Biden family.

WHO says remdesivir does not work: why isn’t the media piling on Tony Faker Fauci?
Has Fauci ever said he was sorry? Admitted he was wrong? Apologized for wasting many of our billions on his illusory HIV vaccines? Said maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to fund the Wuhan Institute of Virology? Just a reminder, below, of how he faked a remdesivir trial. I won’t even start on how he faked the NIH treatment guidelines for Covid, killing thousands of Americans.

    Somebody, please replace this fraud.

Faking results: Fauci’s NIAID-paid Remdesivir Study changed its Outcome Measures Twice, in order to show even a whiff of benefit
    Screen-Shot-2020-04-30-at-2.06.47-PM.png (1137×637)

Below you can go to the ClinicalTrials.gov site for the NAIAD Remdesivir trial (ACTT) that Fauci claimed created a new “standard of care” for COVID-19. The same Fauci who claimed to be a purist about hydroxychloroquine, demanding well designed randomized clinical trials before using it, has done the unthinkable in medicine: changed the goalposts, twice, on his remdesivir study in order to provide the appearance of benefit.
Even then, benefit was quite small.

A month ago, I wondered if Fauci was a fraud and a hypocrite. He has now proven he is both. When will Trump hire a competent doctor to lead an effective response to COVID-19? Preferably one who was not, like Fauci, responsible for funding the creation of novel, virulent coronaviruses.

Rallying for repression: police terror, “law-and-order” politics, and the decline of Maine’s prisoners’ rights movement
    Daniel S. Chard
    Pages 47-73 | Received 12 Jan 2011, Accepted 09 Mar 2012, Published online: 22 Jun 2012

    Abstract
This essay analyzes right-wing activism in Maine’s law enforcement community in relation to the state’s prisoners’ rights movement during the early 1970s. Viewing violent political repression as central to the decline of the radical prisoners’ rights organization, Statewide Correctional Alliance for Reform (SCAR), I argue that vigilante activity and police attacks on prison activists, including Portland Police Officer Edward Foster’s botched attempt to organize a police “death squad” to assassinate local ex-convicts during the summer of 1974, should be understood as the work of a right-wing social movement in 1970s Maine that included activist prison guards, police officers, law enforcement officials, and their supporters. Although most Maine law enforcement agents would never have publicly condoned politically motivated arrests or vigilantism, the above were united in their embrace of a conservative ideology associated with Nixon-era law-and-order politics. Whether acting legally as grassroots community organizers or extralegally as vigilantes, these activists justified their deeds as necessary remedies to a criminal justice system they perceived as “soft on crime.”

This right-wing activism was successful. The destruction of the local prisoners’ rights movement left conservatives and law enforcement agents virtually uncontested in their ability to set the terms of public discussion regarding the role of prisons in Maine and U.S. society. Thus, in Maine and beyond, state and paramilitary violence were central to the rise of law-and-order politics and the prison-industrial complex, and today’s widespread acceptance of mass incarceration as “an inevitable and permanent feature” of America’s social landscape.

  7. Matt writes that those who say Trump is doing a good job (like Doctors Birx, Fauci and Adams who praised Trump) are members of “a cult.” Matt is an inveterate mud slinger. Matt facilely, glibly calls Trump supporters cultists

    Here are some facts:

The CDC said 6 percent died of COVID-19 alone. So, 94 percent died WITH coronavirus. Whether Covid caused the death, or contributed to the death, or whether the person was likely to die anyway, is indeterminate. For deaths WITH Covid, on average, there were 2.6 additional serious conditions.”

San Marino, Peru, Belgium, Andorra, Spain, Brazil, Bolivia, Chile, Ecuador, Nine countries, have higher covid death rates than the U.S. (U.S. 674 deaths/mil) and three other countries have about the same death rates as the U.S. Mexico (659/mil), U.K. (630/mil,) Italy (609/mil.) . Sweden (585 deaths/mil) is slightly less than the U.S.

Four U.S. states have higher death rates than any country. New Jersey, New York, Mass, Conn have between 1,200 and 1,800 deaths per million. Peru is the country with 1,000 deaths per million, the highest. Ten U.S. states have lower Covid death rates than forty countries.

Matt wrote on October 9: “For Many Years In Boston Black Lives Did Not Matter.” Matt implies no politicians, no police, no priests, no ministers, no nuns, no teachers, no social workers, no medics, no nurses, no doctors, no neighbors, no families cared for black lives. Matt resorts to broad brushes to smear. Within the last week, Matt smeared Boston, the Catholic Church, Irish Republicans, Melanie Trump, Amy Coney Barrett, et alia. Matt implies that critics of Biden are “satanic.”

Matt correctly calls Carr and Dershowitz chronic character assassins. Is not Matt a character assassin who for four years compared Trump to Hitler, who said “many Irish who found home with the Republicans want to deprive others of the same opportunity (to vote.)” and who speculated, without evidence, that Judge Barrett may be “guided by some unknown hand telling her how to act:”? Mud slingers resort to sinister comparisons and sinister insinuations and slurs, like wrongfully labelling good folks “cultists.”

    2. I do not like Joe Biden. Biden is a hollow waffler, a man without principles and without integrity. For example, Biden supported the Hyde Amendment for nearly forty years, but last year, to woo leftists, switched sides and now opposes the Hyde Amendment. Biden now promises to codify Roe v. Wade. Biden is full throttle pro-abortion. Biden panders the abortionists.
