The Comey/Clinton/Lynch Plot Thickens: Who Would Have Thought It Could?

comey-and-margolisIt sure is thickening and will soon come to a boil over. Everyone has taken their knives out; those that haven’t are running for cover.

Attorney General Loretta Lynch who heads the Department of Justice is supposed to be the top law enforcement official in America. Lately she seems to have learned her job in the Nixon Advanced Institute of Cover-Up. She tried to shut Comey up but has now pushed him overboard. She has enough problems.

A congressional committee investigating the deal with Iran to exchange prisoners for money which happened a while ago asked her some questions in writing. She dodged and weaved so much that one congress person said she was effectively taking the Fifth Amendment.

Then we have the Phoenix Tarmac meeting between Bill and Loretta. The FBI should have been all over this but stood back. Here’s one report on it: “Bill made small talk about golf and grandchildren and [former Attorney General] Janet Reno, and he kept at it for nearly a half-hour. It didn’t make any difference what they talked about; all he wanted to do was send a message to everyone at Justice and the FBI that Hillary had the full weight of the Clinton machine, the Democratic Party, and the White House behind her. It was clearly tortuous for Loretta. Bill told me later that he noticed there were beads of sweat on her upper lip.”

NIce guy that Bill, he intimidates the attorney general. He then laughs at her. Typical of the Clinton bullies.

No doubt though she got the message.

When Comey gave his talk clearing Hillary you might recall the first part he laid out all her misdeeds. The article reported: “Lynch had promised President Obama and Valerie Jarrett that Hillary would not be indicted. But here was the director of the FBI on national TV laying out what appeared to be an unassailable case for prosecuting her. . . . Finally, she couldn’t stand to watch him anymore. She covered her eyes with her hands and let out a string of curses aimed at Jim Comey. And then, three-quarters of the way through his news conference, Comey dropped a bombshell.

That, of course was that he would not prosecute her. He must have known better. Lynch didn’t care. She saved Hillary and herself.

Why did Comey cave? My guess is his buddy, Mr. Fix it, 51-year-veteran of the Justice Department David Margolis called in a favor. (They are shown above.) Comey figured he owed him or felt loyal to him. Comey gave his speech on July 5; Margolis died on July 14. The Department of Justice lost its hold on Comey.

Now come up to the present moment. The Clinton Clone Washington Post reports that Loretta Lynch tried to stop Comey from sending out the letter.  An unnamed insider in the Justice Department was quoted as saying: “These officials told him the department’s position “that we don’t comment on an ongoing investigation. And we don’t take steps that will be viewed as influencing an election, Director Comey understood our position. He heard it from Justice leadership, . . . It was conveyed to the FBI, and Comey made an independent decision to alert the Hill. He is operating independently of the Justice Department. And he knows it.”

How can Comey work independent of the Justice Department when he is a Justice Department employee?

You can just imaging how much poor Loretta Lynch is being hammered by Obama and the Clintons for letting Comey get off the ranch. She is his boss. Comey is supposed to do what she tells him. That’s how our government is supposed to work.

It had to be Comey was thinking: “Fool me once that’s on you; fool me twice that’s on me.” He told Justice to stick it. He went ahead on his own.

It is amazing that there is a person in DC more concerned doing right and protecting his reputation rather than being a toady to the powers. If that is the case the FBI and the country’s loss will be great when Comey leaves as he will have to as this debacle unravels.

Having seen a Dracula movie on TCM last night I can envision the Clinton gang in DC as Dracula approaching Comey with their greedy grins and Comey pulling out the crucifix and they recoil back in horror. You would not like to be a fly on Hillary’s wall since she is madly banging away at it.

  1. Matt, in addition to your Margolis angle:

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3886942/Resignation-letters-piling-disaffected-FBI-agents-wife-urging-admit-wrong-Director-Comey-jumped-chance-reopen-Hillary-investigation.html

‘The atmosphere at the FBI has been toxic ever since Jim announced last July that he wouldn’t recommend an indictment against Hillary,’ said the source, a close friend who has known Comey for nearly two decades, shares family outings with him, and accompanies him to Catholic mass every week.

Some people, including department heads, stopped talking to Jim, and even ignored his greetings when they passed him in the hall,’ said the source. ‘They felt that he betrayed them and brought disgrace on the bureau by letting Hillary off with a slap on the wrist.’

According to the source, Comey fretted over the problem for months and discussed it at great length with his wife, Patrice.

He told his wife that he was depressed by the stack of resignation letters piling up on his desk from disaffected agents. The letters reminded him every day that morale in the FBI had hit rock bottom.

    • Elmer:

If the source goes to Catholic Mass with him every week he’s going with the wrong James Comey. The FBI director is a Methodist. Go figure!

There has been no stack of resignation letters piling up on Comey’s desk. I suggest the source if he is going to Catholic Church should avail himaself or herself of the Sacrament of Reconciliation aka Confession because the last I knew lying was a sin..

      • Matt – yes, I saw that – but of course, Methodists are welcome to attend Catholic mass, are they not?

But there is no question that there has been megatons of blowback for Comey’s initial recommendation that “no reasonable prosecutor would prosecute.”

I trust the British press far more than our lamestream media.

And I certainly trust Wikileaks far more than I do Her Supreme Thighness and the Killery Klinton Krime camp

And since the Supreme Basilisk “wants everything out in the open,” why doesn’t she just get Huma to consent to the access to her computer – no need for a warrant, eh?

        • Elmer:

I don’t think Methodists who became Methodists after being Catholics attend Catholic Church on a weekly basis as the source suggests. I don’t even know if they are welcome after having abandoned the Church. The source is a phony.

If Comey felt in his heart he was doing the right thing despite the blow back which he knew was coming he should have gone on and done his job. The British press in the form of the daily Mail is similar to our old penny dailies. We agree on Wikileaks although I have found things posted there that are totally wrong.

Hillary has never wanted everything out in the open. Had she then there would have been no private email hidden in her home. The big thing about this is that even Obama knew she had it; I’ve read he was sending her emails under the name of Carlos something. Or am I getting confused on the name. But he was sending her emails under some pseudonym. The whole thing could have ended eons ago had he stood tall and said I knew Hillary had her private email at home and I thought it was fine.

          • “The whole thing could have ended ions [sic] ago had he [President Obama] stood tall and said I knew Hillary had her private email at home and I thought it was fine.”

It does not matter whether or not President Obama “thought it was fine”.
What does matter is what complies with the law of the United States.

  2. “As of Saturday night, the FBI had still not gotten approval from the Justice Department for a warrant that would allow agency officials to read any of the newly discovered Abedin emails, and therefore are still in the dark about whether they include any classified material that the bureau has not already seen.

“We do not have a warrant,” a senior law enforcement official said. “Discussions are under way [between the FBI and the Justice Department] as to the best way to move forward.”

  3. Comey was a registered Republican for most of his adult life; he disclosed during Congressional testimony on July 7, 2016 that he is no longer registered in any party.

In the past Comey donated to U.S. Senator John McCain’s campaign in the 2008 presidential election and to Governor Mitt Romney’s campaign in the 2012 presidential election.

Uma and ” Carlos Danger ” , the cosmic foils in this Grand Play to Hillary and Bill’s marriage of enabler to ” enabled. ” Bill and Tony Weiner, well … it sounds right, but fate makes such odd mates. Each, with a documented proclivity for unzipping and flying nasty, has been protected by a spouse whose muscular advocacy belied the notion of any weakness, ever, on the part of the ” Fairer Sex.” I dig Uma and Hil because I see their resilience. I feel bad for the girls. What a pair of knaves they married.

  5. I know, Comey “took the soup” so you really can’t call him Dominican. Despite converting to Methodism, he managed to retain a Thomist prosecutor’s mind. Give the devil his due.

  6. I see in Comey’s wiki-bio that he worked with, and, was friends with, Pat Fitzgerald. They worked together in Chicago, a decade past. That’s interesting, and, tells me something about his character. Fitzgerald is/was known for being a cut above the rest. Perhaps, that’s true in Comey’s case, also. There’s something very Dominican about the both of them.

  7. This is Comey’s second blatant violation of the Hatch Act, 5 USC 7323(a)(1), which prohibits statements to influence an election and requires remova, 5 USC 7326, from federal service and loss of pension.

Comey, a lifelong Republican and NY attorney, clearly knew he was smearing Hillary, just 11 days before the election. He was also one of the key Winter Hill Gang cover-up guys for the DOJ.

  8. Matt – I never would have caught the Margolis angle

And I agree with you – it’s amazing that someone in DC – Comey – is interested in doing his job, in doing the right thing, instead of toadying to powers

Washington made it clear that we do not elect kings or queens, with some sort of royal immunity, only citizens

news reports are that Huma is no longer on the campaign plane -and there are hints already of the Klinton blame game pointing in her direction

hmmm – was Huma Abedin forwarding these emails to her own laptop as a sort of insurance policy for herself against the Klintons?

because as has been pointed out previously, the Klinton Krime Family is like a tornado – everyone and everything around them is destroyed, but they keep going

I do not want a crook infesting the Oval Office – again – and Billary Killery is a crook

    a lying crook

    a lying criminal crook

  9. Matt: It would appear to me from what I’ve read that these emails were Huma’s archive; they go way back beyond 2009. The search warrant but was probably limited in scope to Weiner’s emails and phone and the discovery of Huma’s was accidental. There are many problems with jurisdiction; the FBI gave the Weinder case to the Manhattan DA in September even though he allegedly violated federal statutes..

The FBI says it has not read any of Huma’s emails. However, discoverery of them would definitely ‘reopen’ the investigation since the previous investigation had not really been closed. “No emails being examined by FBI were to or from Clinton.”

I’m sure the DOJ is being very careful. Can’t have any ‘fruit of the poisoned tree’ here, unless, of course, you want the non-Weiner emails excluded.

    More immunity for the players?

  10. I wonder how Trey Gowdy is taking these developments….

New hope for Trump………we still got a chance : )

  11. One guy with principals can sure screw things up.

    • …or principles, even.

    • Khalid:

They are all yelling: “Who let that guy into the party?”

      • There’s got to be a devil’s advocate to these arguments, otherwise, its just gets to be an echo chamber around here. I like to think that Comey would rather resign than serve under Glorious Leader. I guess that’s what I mean by principle.

        • Correction:

There’s got to be a devil’s advocate to these arguments, otherwise, “it” just gets to be an echo chamber around here. I like to think that Comey would rather resign than serve under Glorious Leader. I guess that’s what I mean by principle.

November draws closer. It will soon be over. Good.

    • My bad. “principles”

Didn’t Comey stick to his guns during the Ashcroft sick-bed drama? Impugning someone’s honesty stings, but, I don’t think that’s what has motivated Comey. He’s more concerned about the effect of all this negative publicity on the public image of the FBI.

  12. Dead man walking?

Within a day or two of his July 5 announcements, I imagined Comey committing suicide within 6 months, having discovered that he could not live with himself after taking a pass on prosecuting HILLARY.

    Now, with Friday’s announcement, I can easily imagine Comey…oh, I don’t know…
