Thinking Back on Trump: He Killed To Stay in Office

President Joseph Biden announced that his first foreign trip will be to Saudi Arabia.

Ooops! That wasn’t Biden, it was Trump who did that.

President Joe Biden announce that he had a meeting schedule with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov at the White House.  President Biden shook hands with Russia’s ambassador to America, Sergey Kislyak.  it was declared their meeting was closed to the American press. Russian press agencies would take and tweet photos from the Oval Office. We would have to depend on the Russian media to give us news concerning these Russian meetings. Biden refused to give us a reading on them.

Ooops!  That wasn’t Biden, it was Trump who did that.

After President Biden left a meeting with Russia’s Vladimir Putin they held a dual press conference.  President Biden said that he believed Putin’s denials over the information American intelligence officials had provided to him about Russia.

Ooops!  That wasn’t Biden, it was Trump who did that.

Those were the statements and acts that occurred in the spring of Trump’s presidency.  It was obvious this was not going to be a traditional American presidency. Some saw in the call to go back to some distant day in American history, exemplified by Trump’s “make America great again,” a time of unfettered white rule where Blacks, Asians, Hispanics were to be seen but not heard, especially through their votes.

The summer of 2017 saw the Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, with the racists and anti-Semitic chants, the Nazi and Confederate flags, and the neo-Nazi torch light parade. More of them were in the offing. The big one was saved for the end.

Within six months of the Trump time in office we knew we had thrust upon us something new and vile. The frightful aspect of it was that we were just beginning. There was little doubt that the America we knew entering 2017 was not going to  be the America we would be handed in 2021.  As time passed our doubts were confirmed, no administration in American history had as many people associated with it convicted of crimes or had to leave their cabinet offices with dark clouds over their heads. As cabinet heads left they were  replaced with folk who were so incompetent they could not pass Trump’s own Republican senate’s scrutiny so they were made acting.

As he closed in on the half way mark in his term of office, Trump turned his eyes to keeping the office for himself or his family forever. The Democrats had only one person who could prevent this. That was Joe Biden. To knock him out of contention early, in a similar manner Putin was able  to put down threats to his staying in office by poisoning and sentencing  Alexie  Nalvany or murdering Boris Nemtsov on the Bolshoy Moskvoretsky  Bridge in Moscow,  he held up aid to Ukraine trying to force it to open up a phony investigation of Biden.

It never came about. Biden would defeat Trump who refused to concede alleging without proof fraud. He riled up his witting followers. He intimidated state officeholders. His last chance was to have the Senate on January 6, 2021, unlawfully throw the election to him. He called for his people to come to DC for a “wild” time. He told them to march upon the Capitol. They did. Lives were lost. Trump all but killed them with his own hands.

Democracy survived.
