Happy Easter – An Easter To Remember

Happy Easter to all those who celebrate the rising of Christ. When in the past we gathered in church to celebrate this event today for the first time in the lives of many we may not go to church but must for our safety stay ensconced in our homes.

Cardinal Dolan from New York was on CSPAN on Wednesday talking about the present situation. He said in the past great trauma’s in the nation brought about a return to people going to church, temple or other religious places of worship. He is hoping that also will occur this time throughout the country. He told how after World War II the voices of great religious teachers were heard throughout the land.

It would be nice but I’m not sure its in the offing. But today’s not a time for other than thinking good thoughts and being optimistic. My wish is everyone have a Happy Easter and stay healthy.

Happy Easter! Onward and upward, Christian soldiers. Up the Republic. Peace to those of good will; to those not of good will, Special Forces and may they be “Blinded by the Light.” Fight the good fight, for it written: “In the beginning, God said, “Let there be light”, sound preceded light; from one vibe in the void sprung forth all; “And the Spirit was upon the void” The Father and Holy Spirit existed from the beginning. “In the beginning was the Word.” “And the Word was made flesh and dwelt among us.” “He is risen.”

Scripture told the whole story, before Science proffered the Big Bang, Evolution, History, et alia. There is no conflict between Scripture and Science, no conflict between Art and Science, that’s why many college students enroll in the Colleges of Arts & Sciences, and study both: one informs the other. Informed by his Faith, the Belgium cosmologist was the first to propose the Big Bang Theory, which Einstein, like Thomas, first doubted, then believe.

Here’s the rest of the story:

    Genesis 16:11
“And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name ISHMAEL; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.”
    Genesis 17:19
“And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name ISAAC: and I will establish my covenant with him for an EVERLASTING COVENANT, and with his seed after him.”
    Isaiah 7:14
“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name EMMANUEL which being interpreted is, God with us.”
    Matthew 1:23
“But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit. 21She will give birth to a Son, and you shall give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.” 22All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:…“Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

And may, God be with you, one and all.

  5. Happy Easter Matt and the entire Connolly Clan. That goodness we don’t have to dress up anymore and head to Church with our Soft Hats, Shirts and Ties. That was a beautiful picture of Buzzard’s Bay taken from your back porch. Even as a young man you had to be by the Sea. In the summer you could be seen under the third tree on Carson Beach getting ready for your daily plunge into the Ocean. As that great American “Archie Bunker” once said “ Those were the Days”! Nama Syah !

  6. AMEN, AMEN, HAPPY EASTER TO ALL. HE IS RISEN, INDEED !!!
